DKT International (Washington, DC) provides products and services for family planning and reproductive health through 19 programs in 18 countries. DKT's approach uses marketing advertising to promote the understanding and use of affordable contraceptive products and services to a wide socio-economic spectrum. In 2011, DKT provided and sold worldwide 650 million condoms, more than 72 million cycles of oral contraceptives, and over 14 million injectable contraceptives, 1 million IUDs, and 12 million misoprostol pills. Last year, DKT's efforts prevented 7 million unwanted pregnancies, 11,000 maternal deaths, and 1.4 million abortions. DKT International's goal is to provide families and individuals with ever wider choices for their reproductive and sexual health. The organization's newest program, DKT International Beijing, is currently being established as a social enterprise to market and sell contraceptives in China.
DKT Beijing is seeking a long-term, full-time Office Assistant who will manage office needs and provide program support. The preferred candidate will be excited to participate in the challenges of creating a new social enterprise dedicated to expanding reproductive and sexual health options for families and individuals throughout China. OFFICE ASSISTANT
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Office Administration
• Manage the daily needs of the office, from organizing files to stocking supplies.
• Provide support in completing general office paperwork and documentation.
2. Finances
• Manage petty cash and banking requirements for office in conjunction with maintaining supporting financial records.
• Ensure all financial transactions are recorded and accurately filed.
3. Project Support
• Assist with preparation of correspondence, project plans, and documents, including English-Chinese translation.
• Assist in the registration of products and trademarks.
• Assist in general contact and liaison with outside agencies, including assistance with occasional translation and interpretation.
OFFICE ASSISTANT
QUALIFICATIONS
• Possess a relevant university degree in business, management, and/or economics.
• Possess at least two years' experience working in a related business or organization.
• Command of Word, Excel, and other relevant software.
• Strong language skills, including the ability to act as an informal interpreter/translator when required.
• Background and experience in healthcare and/or reproductive and sexual health preferred.
• Familiarity with social enterprise and commerce appreciated, especially start-ups.
• Possess a high level of maturity, reliability, and organizational skills.
• Strong interest in working with a start-up team as a long-term member of a new and exciting social enterprise.
