The EU in China has launched a call for proposals to support European and/or Chinese civil society organizations (click on the link for guidelines), with three specific objectives:
 
1.       to strengthen the role and capacity of Chinese non-state actors (NSAs) to reach out, represent and protect vulnerable groups or groups at risk of marginalisation, to facilitate their access to mainstream services and resources and their rightful integration in the society;
2.       to uphold the structured and meaningful participation of Chinese NSAs in decision making at the local level, with a view to promoting a responsible, transparent and accountable governance;
3.       To enhance the contribution of Chinese NSAs in promoting sustainable urbanisation processes in China at the local level and the dialogue and cooperation between EU and Chinese NSA in this context.
 
 
Deadline for submission of five pages concept notes is 11 March 2013. Templates for concept notes/full applications and other background can be found here. The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is EUR 4.700.000. The size of individual grants can be between EUR 300.000 – EUR 700,000.
