Beijing +20 history/herstory - request for proposals

In 1995, the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women was held in Beijing. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the conference, the Ford Foundation’s Beijing office is offering 10 grants of up to US$25,000 each for individuals or organizations to tell their stories of the impact of the Beijing conference. The stories may focus on preparations for the conference in the early 1990s, or they may be about contemporary trends or phenomena that are influenced by the legacy of the conference, or they may cover the whole period. The stories may be told through new media, documentary, fiction, academic or popular writings, theatre, art, oral history, multimedia or other formats. Please see attached to find out more.
Asia Catalyst Calls for Applicants for Human Rights Advocacy Training

Asia Catalyst, a nonprofit that works with East and Southeast Asian advocates to promote the right to health, is launching a new training program. We are seeking applicants who want to receive coaching and mentoring to further their advocacy skills and plans. Beginning in May 2013, selected participants will attend workshops in Thailand and take part in monthly coaching calls with health rights experts. Participants will also be connected to their peers in the region for additional support and collaboration.

The Chinese Spring Festival is almost upon us. At this time of year, many people living with HIV face difficulties, whether it is rejection by their families, discrimination from society, or other issues. At the same time, the festive season is also a time when many PLHIV can experience the kindness of their families, support from the community and friendship from friends.
Next week, UNAIDS and CAP+ will be publishing stories written by people living with HIV, helping our followers to get a more in-depth understanding of the challenges faced by PLHIV and their hopes.

UNAIDS is running a public consultation process using its social media platforms. These platforms include Sina Weibo, Sohu Weibo and Tencent Weibo. Members of the public, including representatives of key affected populations and other stakeholder groups, are invited to participate in this consultation and provide input which will be submitted to the UN SG via the China consultation process.

The United Nations has launched a broad consultation process for the next global development goals. As part of this Post-2015 work the UN has created a crowdsourcing site called MY World. On the site you can vote for an issue you think needs to part of the Post-2105 discussion. Analytics will be shared on line to show which issues are trending and the top issues will be included in milestone meetings in Monrovia, Bali and New York.

The EU in China has launched a call for proposals to support European and/or Chinese civil society organizations.
Deadline for submission of five pages concept notes is 11 March 2013. Templates for concept notes/full applications and other background can be found here. The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is EUR 4.700.000. The size of individual grants can be between EUR 300.000 – EUR 700,000.

As the Community-Based Organisation Sub-Recipient (CBO-SR), the Chinese Association of STD & AIDS Prevention and Control is responsible for CBO management work within the China Global Fund AIDS Programme. The objective of this programme is to 'expand coverage of HIV prevention, treatment and care services in China, and to promote access to comprehensive response services amongst key affected populations and PLHIV. This programme provides coverage to 31 provinces (including Autonomous Regions and Municipalities). The programme is now recruiting a Programme Officer.
